If you were to scroll through my social media today, you would make the assumption that I am quite bold, loud and very much my best expression of myself on my platforms. What you won’t see, is the internal battle I faced getting into a position of feeling that way about myself.
I have had one of those long and gruelling social media experiences where I was bullied, had my posts and photos used against me in manipulation, had my own stories of my trauma thrown in my face in real life events by people I trusted.. And these days my philosophy of social media is if it is an expression of yourself, post it.
I have been utterly amazed at the love I have found on Threads.
This blog purely exists because of the love and support I have received from my community on that platform and I am so grateful to the friends I have made. To the people whose days I crave updates from. Who cheer me on and congratulate me on my successes. Who encouraged me to really be myself and opened a door to something I have always wanted to have but was too afraid.
But in saying that. If anyone makes you feel small, uses your posts against you or just has an overly negative vibe. Block them.
I use social media ruthlessly and relentlessly.
And I will not apologise for it.
